Project Overview
A brief look at the game's concept, mechanics, and development journey.
DeadForce: Redemption is a short third-person shooter tech demo designed to showcase student-created assets. Each student, including myself, was tasked with developing a unique section of the level and populating it with custom assets. Once completed, these sections were seamlessly combined into a fully playable level for demonstration.
For my contribution, I created and textured assets using 3DS Max. I also developed a narrative for my section to complement the game's mechanics and add depth to the overall experience.
My Contribution
Balancing creativity and functionality as the 3D Artist, Gameplay Designer, and QA Tester.
[3D Artist]
-
Modelled and textured various assets in 3DS Max, including a streetcar, leather chair, stool, table, fire hydrant, and air conditioner, contributing to the environmental detail.
-
Created and textured a modular bar set, designed with three unique modular pieces in 3DS Max to allow flexible level design.
-
Crafted six seamless 2D textures—leather, metal, wood, wallpaper, brick, and fence—ensuring cohesive material consistency throughout the project.
[Gameplay Designer]
-
Developed the narrative for the tech demo and created a storyboard to visually communicate and enhance the story’s integration into the gameplay.
-
Designed and implemented atmospheric VFX, such as fog and lighting, to bring the streets and club environment to life.
[QA Tester]
-
Collaborated in streaming the final level, integrating and connecting work from all students into a unified, showcase-ready experience.
